Vision

To play an effective part in the growing and prosperous creative economy in Hampshire

Aims and objectives

In recognition of the diversity and innate characteristics of the creative industry sector the HEP Creative Industries Task Group seeks initially to work with and through the many existing networks to create a forum where:
  • communication can flow to and from creative industry practitioners and businesses through the relevant networks
  • the networks can meet and coordinate actions and activities
  • the expansion of the networks county-wide can be encouraged

Introduction

The creative industries task group brings together the many existing groups representing creative industries in Hampshire. It seeks to raise the profile of the industry, and put forward actions which help real business and real entrepreneurs.

Definition of creative industries

Creative Industries are those industries that are based on individual creativity, skill and talent, and those that have the potential to create wealth and jobs through developing intellectual property.
They include:
  • advertising
  • architecture
  • art and antiques markets
  • computer and video games
  • crafts
  • design
  • designer fashion
  • film and video
  • music
  • performing arts
  • publishing
  • software
  • television and radio

Membership

The membership of the group is designed to reflect a wide cross-section of activities within the creative sector industry types identified above. Membership is by invitation in order to maintain balanced representation, and consists of representatives from the many creative groups already in existence and the businesses. In this way, the HEP creative industries task group is a ‘partnership of partnerships’.
