Two key themes consistently emerge across the whole spectrum of economic sectors, through discussion and interaction, as being common concerns and opportunities for businesses and organisations . They are seen as vital to the future economic recovery of Hampshire and have far reaching effects in addition to economic benefits alone.
These themes are skills and sustainability.
HEP is working closely with public sector partners on various initiatives including public/private sector forums on future skills provision, accessing funds for job creation from UK and Europe, analysis work for possible sustainable cluster creation, event and conference organisation and much more.
The HEP Task Groups have also identified them as definite foci – underpinning key projects and work for the coming months – and HEP has appointed a skills manager to work specifically on the workforce development agenda with partners and stakeholders.
Developing a workforce skilled and prepared for a post recession economy as well as supporting and underpinning sustainable processes, technologies and businesses is central to HEP’s commitment to helping support economic growth & prosperity
