Sustainability

Sustainability and sustainable industries/technologies play an important role across the Task Group spectrum for HEP. This sector is seen as one of the emerging growth areas, important both economically and socially, to the future of the Hampshire economy.

Through collaboration and partnership working, the Task Groups are supporting this area through specific projects e.g. The Building & Construction Task Group not only organise visits to key sites of specific interest but work with other key partners such as the Sustainable Construction Network and the Sustainable Business Partnership to raise awareness of issues and promote sustainable construction practices.

Our Creative Industries Task Group is working in association with our Invest Land & Property Group to help the Open Space initiative – working with landlords to make available empty retail premises for creative artists.

Our Transport & Logistics Task Group is a key player in the Transport Alliance where a key objective is to create a sustainable transport strategy for Hampshire.

HEP sees this cross-sector opportunity as central to its future strategy of helping to underpin and support long-term economic prosperity and growth within Hampshire
